When Wasaga Beach (Ontario, Canada) native Tyler Firestone plays he loves speaking to the audience and telling the stories behind his songs. His music draws on the folk, rock,and blues influences of icons like Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Leonard Cohen, Led Zeppelin, Bert Jansch, Arlo Guthrie, John Denver and the many others who paved the way for modern day indi artists.
Tyler’s music speaks of love, romance, world issues, and hope. This singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist (guitar, harmonica, piano, and mandolin) has opened for the folk duo, Dala, and for Canadian folk-music legend Valdy. He has appeared at the 2007,2008, and2009 Barrie Folk Roots Music Festival, the Great Northern Exhibition, Face the Music concert series, Knox Acoustic Café Youth Showcase, and in 2008 he won the Georgian Bay Folk Society Young & Hungry Youth Showcase, as well as performing at Summerfolk 2008.
Tyler also performed at the Ontario Thespian Festival, showcasing an anti-bullying play titled “For the Ones” which features and is based on his song For the Ones. He is currently promoting his debut album titled Tyler Firestone: All In Good Time, and is planning on releasing his second album in the near future.
