"2008 Young & Hungry Showcase winner Tyler Firestone to play at Summerfolk 2008 (August 15-17)."

As winner of the March 29, 2008 Georgian Bay Folk Society (GBFS) Young & Hungry Showcase, Tyler Firestone was awarded a spot on the Young & Hungry Stage at this year’s Summerfolk Music Festival, AND an opening set for the 2008 Knox Acoustic Cafe concert of his choice. An excerpt from the GBFS announcement reads,

"Designed to offer young performers the opportunity of a 'gig' at Summerfolk, 'Young & Hungry Discoveries' selections were Tyler Firestone from Wasaga Beach and 'Driftar', a five-piece band from Hanover. Both acts will appear Friday night at Summerfolk on the 'Young & Hungry' stage along with the amazing Hayden Stewart who was selected at the Knox Acoustic Cafe Youth Event"
